Ambassador Meeting with H.E. Mohammad Ali Asif, Minister of Tourism and Youth Affairs
On 1st Feb, 2008, the Afghan Ambassador H.E. Mohammad Anwar Anwarzai had a meeting with H.E. Mohammad Ali Saif, Minister of Tourism and Youth Affairs of Pakistan in his office, and the following issues discussed:
- Pakistan is interested in development of tourism industry with Afghanistan and is ready to conduct exchange programs for Afghan youth.
- Transportation facilities for tourists and operating bus services between Kabul and Peshawar.
- Proposal for creation of an Afghan Sufi seat in Lahore University and reciprocal the Pakistani Sufi seat in Kabul University or any other universities by the consent of Afghan authorities.
- Organizing food festival between two countries.
- Conducting people to people contact for the purpose of tourism development.
- Providing short term courses for Afghan youth in the field of tourism and hotel management.
- Telecasting/broadcasting of tourist programs through TV channels of both countries
Ambassador Meeting with H.E. Dr. Shamsh Kassim-Lakha Acting Federal Minister for Education
The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan had a meeting with H.E.Dr. Shamsh Kassim-Lakha Acting Federal Minister for Education, Islamic Republic of Pakistan in his Office on January 15, 2008.
The Minister expressed his interest to Afghanistan’s reconstruction especially in field of Education. The following points were discussed:
- Meeting between H.E. Dr. Shamsh Kassim-Lakha, and H.E. Mohammad Hanieef Atmar in New Delhi on 29 November 2007
- Dispatching delegation of Education specialist to Afghanistan to explore ways to strengthen of Education Sector of Afghanistan
- Literacy and skills training, Teachers training, Rehabilitation of schools, Technical and vocational training and education and Scholarship
- Specialist visiting Afghanistan for a period of one to two weeks in January/February 2008 for scoping mission
The delegation will discuss pertinent issues with the authorities of the Ministry of Education of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and they would have meeting with Ministry of Higher Education of Afghanistan as well.
