Mission Statement
Afghanistan with a weak post-conflict economy has emerged following Bonn Agreement in 2001, as a state adherent to democratic values, practicing market economy. The enhancement of security, stability and the rule of law were priorities in its agenda. Afghanistan desirous to regain its past glorious position in the international community; reconfirmed its external relations based on peaceful co-existence, non-interference in the other nation's internal affairs and sustained economic cooperation.
Taking into consideration the above the Afghanistan Embassy in Islamabad is committed to build confidence, mutual trust and further strengthen relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan; particularly aims to protect and promote Afghanistan's interest and image.
Fostering economic and commercial relations and encouraging investment are important parts of its endeavors. The embassy is also committed to promote bilateral ties with the Pakistan business, cultural, educational and media communities.
Having adopted a pro-active diplomacy, the Embassy will concentrate to successfully address the following elements:
• To explain and advocate the position of Afghanistan government in view of the current realities and acceptance, on bilateral and multilateral political, economic, security and social issues
• To enhance a coordinated cooperation between the two countries to combat terrorism and extremism
• To report to the government of Afghanistan on positions taken by the Pakistan government on issues of concern/ interest to Afghanistan
• To assist the process of repatriation of the Afghan refugees, facilitate educational opportunities for the Afghan youths
• To expand further trade between Afghanistan and Pakistan and encourage Pakistan's businesses to invest in Afghanistan
• To establish continued contacts between people to people and promote exchange of students/academia, civil society and government officials
• To facilitate scientific, cultural, media and educational exchange programs between Afghanistan and Pakistan
• To provide consular services “such as: passports, visa and other documentary services to foreign and Afghan nationals in Pakistan
